Symptoms of Depression
The main symptom of depression is a loss of interest in or the ability to enjoy activities in the pleasant things in life.
-
In terms of thinking, people with depression have more negative thoughts, such as “I have no value to live”; “I will never succeed in doing things.” etc.;
-
Emotionally, they often feel sad, empty, full of guilt, helplessness, anger and shame;
-
Physically, they often feel tired, lack of motivation, have difficulty in falling asleep, have difficulty in concentrating, have poor memory, and even have unexplained pain, hallucinations and delusions;
-
There are also changes in their behavior, such as avoiding contact with people, preferring to be alone, or even thinking about suicide or harming themselves;
If the situation is affecting client's ability to perform daily functions, including work, family and/or social life, it is recommended to seek professional help as soon as possible.
